The hotel has a great location, making it easy to explore nearby attractions. However, I experienced a few issues with room temperature and clarity in the dining reservation policy. Overall, it's a mixed bag—some aspects should definitely improve, especially regarding guest communication and comfort in the rooms.
Rooms
5.0
The room I stayed in was on the smaller side and had quite a strange vibe due to an overbearing artwork. The heating system was not adjustable, leading to a chilly night, and the shower was lukewarm even at its highest setting, which was disappointing.
Service
6.0
The service from the front desk staff was generally friendly, but the dining staff was less accommodating when it came to our reservation misunderstandings, which detracted from our experience.
Location
9.0
Ideally located near many bars, restaurants, and shops, the location was a highlight. It made it very easy to walk to popular spots and enjoy Newcastle's vibrant atmosphere.
Dining
5.0
Dining came with a reservation confusion that turned out to be quite frustrating. While the quality of food was good, the communication regarding our reservation left much to be desired.
Facilities
7.0
Facilities are decent and offer the essentials needed for a comfortable stay, but could use some upgrading to ensure the level of comfort expected for a boutique hotel.

I recently stayed at this charming hotel in the city, and it was quite the memorable experience! The staff were genuinely lovely, making us feel right at home from the get-go. However, I did notice a few minor maintenance issues in the room, and the breakfast wait time could improve. Overall, it's a great place for a city break, especially given the nice touches and comfortable amenities.
Rooms

The room was spacious and nicely decorated, although it could use a bit of a refresh as there were some marks here and there. The temperature was a bit on the warm side, which made it feel cozy but slightly uncomfortable at times.

Breakfast was a high point, offering a fantastic full English, though wait times could be a bit long after ordering. Still, the quality of the food was impressive.
Facilities

My stay was quite mixed; while the hotel is centrally located and the staff were friendly, I had some serious concerns about the condition of the rooms. The refurbishment did disrupt things, and I felt the cleanliness standards were not where they should be considering the price. Overall, it may appeal to some, but I wouldn't recommend it as a top choice.
Rooms
5.0
The rooms were in need of maintenance, with noticeable wear and issues like a hanging extraction unit. While there was charm, it wasn't up to par with expectations.

I expected more from this hotel, especially given its boutique appeal and central location. While I appreciated that my room was clean and warm, the noise levels were a significant downside. The unhelpful service at check-in also left a bad taste, but I did find the breakfast pleasantly diverse and tasty. Overall, it was a mixed experience and not quite worth the price I paid.

I had an excellent stay at the Grey Street Hotel. The location is unbeatable, giving me easy access to dining and nightlife, and I found the room to be clean and comfortable. However, the noise from the street and an unsettling green exit light in the room could be annoying. Overall, it's a great value for the price, and I would definitely return.
Rooms

My room was spacious, clean, and beautifully decorated. The comfy bed and great amenities made it enjoyable, although the green exit light near the door was a bit bothersome at night.

The hotel is perfectly situated in the heart of Newcastle, just moments away from fantastic restaurants and vibrant nightlife. It's a short walk from the train station, making it very convenient.
Dining

Unfortunately, the restaurant was under renovation during my stay, so I couldn’t experience dining there. However, the staff offered room service and drinks from the bar, which was a nice alternative.
Facilities

While I didn't get to enjoy the full dining facilities due to renovations, I appreciated the bar services and room amenities. It would have been great to have a mini-fridge in the room for drinks.
